What all these three handsets have in common? They are all part of Samsung’s big and worldwide known brand, the Galaxy S. Following a gradual scale, the order is: Samsung Galaxy S1, Samsung Galaxy S Advance and Galaxy S2. Which one is the best? Obviously, the most advanced one: Galaxy S2. Still, the recently announced Galaxy S Advance comes with an interesting design, including a curved display.
Considering its internal specs, the device is a mid range one, being situated in the middle, between Galaxy S1 and S2. Moreover, the Galaxy S Advance is considered to be the successor of Galaxy S. In terms of design, the Galaxy S Advance looks more attractive, though it follows the same form factor featuring a similar plastic construction. Clearly, the most attractive handset remains the S2.
What Samsung has improved with this upcoming Galaxy S Advance? First of all, the shape of its display with Google’s Nexus S-style curve form factor. Secondly, we see an improved RAM memory with a 768MB instead of 512MB found inside the first model. On the back it’s the same 5 megapixel camera, but it does have a LED flash for a better image quality in both day and light mode.
There is also a dual core processor clocked at 1GHz inside the Galaxy S Advance, while Galaxy S uses only a single core processor. Not to mention the S2 that comes also with a dual core processor Cortex A9 clocked at 1.2GHz that is faster than the one used on the Galaxy S Advance.
Samsung Galaxy S Advance has the same weight as its predecessor, meaning that the S2 is the lightest from all of them with its 116 grams and the slimmest. Apart from precise dimensions, all handsets are made of the same material, following the same design.
Software wise, the Galaxy S Advance will run Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread, but it will be updated with the latest version: Ice Cream Sandwich. It does pack Samsung’s pre-loaded apps with access to Android Market and also featuring TouchWiz interface as Galaxy S1 and S2.
There is no infos about the Galaxy S Advance hitting the US market, because the handset has been announced for Russia first next month, followed by Europe, China, Africa, Middle East, Southeast and Southwest Asia, Latin America. No word on exact launch date or price tag.
Summaring up, from all these three devices, the Galaxy S2 is the best. Larger and better display, a faster processor, better camera and a more stylish design. Still, Samsung Galaxy S Advance is an improved version of the first handset that has become (with its second model) one of the best selling smartphones.
